How to solve harmonic sound problems?
Apr 23, 2018

Only when it blows, does it sound. This situation usually occurs on blowing notes because the clearance between the vibrating end of the reed and the spring plate is too small. The problem can be solved by increasing the gap. The specific scheme is as follows. Remove the cover and use a wooden toothpick to gently push in the middle of the reed to move the leaf away from the spring plate to increase the clearance. To be clear, the respiration reed is inside the blowhole and the suction reed is outside of the blowhole. Push the reed outward five times. Now cover the harmonica on both sides of the harmonica. Do not use a twisted screw to blow air (or inhale) hard in your hand. If the reed is still blocked and sounds under strong airflow, repeat the above process. A slight increase in the gap can solve the problem. The amplitude of the reed must not be too large, otherwise the reed will break.

Some note suddenly became strange. What happened to this piano? If this happens suddenly, it is very likely that it is bad. Harmonica is not a permanent instrument. In the end, some reeds will have a slight crack, and the pitch of the corresponding note will become lower. As a result, the harmonica will blow up strangely. According to the normal playing situation, a harmonica can be used for about six months to a year. Unfortunately, once this happens, the harmonica is broken and it's time to change the instrument. Replacing reeds is possible, but this is the work of senior technicians. Replacing the reeds usually costs more than a new piano.
